Greetings from the President
Dear Fellow SSOMS Partners:
On behalf of the membership of the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, I invite you to attend our 76th annual meeting which will be held May 13-17 at The Breakers in Palm
Beach, FL.
The Breakers’ story is one of endurance and evolution. Considered an architectural triumph, the oceanfront resort originally debuted in 1896, then reopened twice after major fires in 1903 and 1925. Decade by decade, it played host to the glitterati and cemented the seaside glamour that is now so central to Palm Beach culture. Today, that same sensibility remains, modernized to meet the needs of our contemporary guest. With an average of $30 million invested annually to preserve our landmark property, amenities like four pools, 10 restaurants, an indoor-outdoor fitness facility, stunning spa and acclaimed golf courses attract guests the world over—proof that The Breakers is the ultimate leisure destination.
During our scientific sessions, Dr. Deepak G. Krishnan will speak Thursday on “Optimizing the OMS Anesthesia Model” and “Adapt and Evolve – Artificial Intelligence (AI) is Taking Over Your OMS Practice.” Dr. David B. Powers will speak Friday on “Subperiosteal Implants – ‘A New Hope’ for the Atrophic Maxilla and Mandible: Indications, Planning and Management of Complications” and “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – An Update and Clinical Indications for Use in the 21st Century.” Dr. Julie A. Chavez will speak Saturday on a topic to come.
I look forward to seeing you in the Palm Beach at The Breakers.
Sincerely,
Steve
